Operation ‘Rah-e-Rast’
Kayani explains what’s in a name.
If some one still had any doubts, Pakistan army chief explains that the rationale for the army’s operations against the jehadis lies in its code name — Rah-e-Rast. General Kayani said that the military operation “is launched to bring the astray people on the right track (Rah-e-Rast).”
“We are conducting this operation to bring misguided people back on the right path,” he said.
“They are not fighting for Islam. Pakistan was created in the name of Islam and we know how to protect it,” he added.[BBC]
This is the clearest ideological framing, emanating from Rawalpindi, of the ongoing battle between Pakistan army and the jehadis. Who is the real protector of Islam in Pakistan– Pakistan army or the jehadis? Now, that is a dangerous proposition to expound as the answer can be framed in myriad ways by the common Pakistani, some of which might not be to the liking of General Kayani and his gang.
And then there is this related issue of welcoming back these misguided people into the fold. Only if they’d agree to join the Pakistan army’s version of Islam — which is primarily directed against India and an unfriendly government in Kabul — and continue to act as a strategic and diplomatic tool for the Pakistan military-intelligence-jehadi complex in the region.
Well, this also gives us a fair idea about how the senior leadership of Pakistan army is going to exhort its soldiers to fight the jehadis.

Oh did you hear about the brave brave Jarnail saab from across the border whose name rhymes with a famous bakery in Pune (Kayani)?
He flew a combat mission in an F-16 against the Taliban. How brave of Jarnail saab! /sarc
Anyone expecting substantial and real results from the latest Paki war on terror must be severely deluded or ignorant of history.
So simple ji – never was hi fi policy sholicy matter. Locals seeking to attenuate Pak Mil Inc shall be bombed to the straight and narrow. Ideology , Religion minor matters.
I do wish the Taliban had chosen that moment to test if all those stingers they have, from back when the great Satan was their bosom pal, still worked.
We might have even seen photos of Jarnail saab retching on the tarmac after the pilot took evasive action and got his ass back to terra firma.

Long Live Pakistan. Well done Armed Forces of Pakistan. You ve done what Americans could not do in Iraq, what Indians failed to do in Kashmir and its North Eastern States and NATO and US forces are struggling to do in Afghanistan!
Dont count your chickens so early buddy. You have a long way to go. Fransteins demand a huge pound of flesh from the creators. The cost that has been paid is too little yet.
